The Faculty of Architecture and Planning at King Abdulaziz University believes that its social responsibility is an integral part of its educational and research mission. Through its programs and initiatives, the faculty seeks to serve the community and prepare specialized professionals who contribute to the development of the built environment and urban communities, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The faculty focuses on strengthening its role in promoting architectural and planning awareness, and in providing initiatives that support sustainable design and the development of cities and urban areas. The faculty’s efforts include organizing awareness and educational programs in areas such as modern architecture, urban planning, environmental design, and project management, in addition to offering workshops and training courses for students and community members on sustainable design, heritage preservation, and the development of creative and artistic skills. The faculty also supports volunteer initiatives that contribute to improving the urban environment and raising community awareness, while providing its students with field opportunities in design and planning projects that enhance their practical and professional skills. The faculty works on building strategic partnerships with governmental, private, and community institutions to maximize the impact of its programs, whether through advisory studies or joint educational and training initiatives. Through these efforts, the Faculty of Architecture and Planning reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility as a cornerstone of sustainable development, and to its active contribution in improving the built environment and enhancing the quality of life in the local and national community.
