20260412890The PhD in Judicial Studies is an advanced academic program at Level 8 of the National Qualifications Framework. It prepares specialized academic and judicial cadres capable of ijtihad, derivation, and weighing between juristic opinions and contemporary judicial regulations, and producing original judicial knowledge that serves the Kingdom's justice system in line with Vision 2030. It comprises 36 credit hours and is delivered at the main campus in Jeddah for both sections.
Leadership in specialized judicial studies locally and regionally, and the preparation of qualified researchers and judges capable of producing original judicial knowledge that advances the justice system and serves society in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
To graduate specialized academic cadres, qualified in both Sharia and judicial domains in accordance with the judicial policy of the Kingdom and Vision 2030, capable of competing locally, regionally, and internationally; of producing original judicial knowledge; and of addressing contemporary cases through a well-grounded legal and regulatory methodology.

The course surveys the forms of judicial nawazil across various civil, criminal, administrative, commercial, evidentiary, and other matters, together with a study of the scholarly methodology followed in judicial nawazil and the mechanisms of applying it to newly arising matters and cases, drawing on the rulings of Islamic jurisprudence, the Saudi systems, and Saudi judicial applications.
