About the Program

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Orthodontics is a three-year program that combines advanced clinical training with rigorous scientific research in the field of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates basic sciences with clinical orthodontics, aiming to develop highly competent specialists with strong scholarly insight into orthodontic theory and its application to patient care. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded a professional master’s degree in the field of specialization. Guided by its mission, the program strives to achieve excellence in teaching and learning, promote high-quality scientific research, foster leadership and entrepreneurship, and deliver distinguished patient care and meaningful community service in the field of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Learning Outcomes

K1: Recognize the essential sciences related to orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
K2: Develop a deep understanding of the normal growth and development of the craniofacial and dental structures and differentiate any deviation or abnormal patterns of growth and development.
K3: Demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge in preclinical orthodontic sciences and dentofacial orthopedics, including orthodontic biomaterials, biomechanics, orthodontic appliances and techniques.
K4: Develop a deep understanding of the research methodology and design in relation to orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
S1: Diagnose and treatment plan malocclusion and dentofacial problems using the best available evidence.
S2: Manage and treat patients of all ages with all types of malocclusions and dentofacial problems using different contemporary orthodontic appliances and techniques.
S3: Communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, other health care professionals and the community regarding patient needs and importance of orthodontic treatment.
S4: Demonstrate the ability to teach, supervise, share scientific experiences, and disseminate knowledge in the field of orthodontics.
S5: Demonstrate the ability to appraise systematically current evidence in orthodontics and conduct a research activity to adopt an evidence-based practice using recent digital technology.
V1: Demonstrate high ethical standards when dealing with patient care and research and ensure the delivery of excellent patient care in adherence with the national standards responding to community needs.
V2 Become an effective leader that contributes to a vision of a high-quality health care system and take responsibility and commitment to the discipline by professional planning for learning and development.
