Learning Outcomes

K1: Recognize the essential sciences related to periodontology and implant dentistry (including biology, anatomy, radiology, epidemiology, microbiology, pharmacology, social-behavior, and oral pathology).
K2: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of theories, principles, and concepts in periodontology and implant dentistry, including the etiology, pathogenesis, and classification of periodontal diseases, as well as the principles and techniques of dental implantology.
K3: Demonstrate basic and advanced knowledge and techniques in periodontal diagnosis, treatment planning, and conventional and advanced therapeutic interventions, including non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapies, regenerative materials and procedures, and implant placement and restoration.
K4: Develop advanced knowledge and understanding of the research methodology and design in relation to periodontology and implant dentistry.
S1: Apply the knowledge gained to formulate evidence-based patient-centered diagnosis and treatment planning of periodontal and periimplant diseases and conditions.
S2: Demonstrate clinical proficiency in performing basic and multidisciplinary periodontal care using conventional and advanced methods and technology in the field.
S3: Communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, peers, instructors, other health care professionals, and the community.
S4: Demonstrate the ability to teach, supervise, share scientific experiences, and disseminate knowledge in the field of periodontology and dental implantology.
S5: Demonstrate the ability to appraise systematically current evidence in periodontics and conduct a research activity to adopt an evidence-based practice.
V1: Demonstrate high ethical standards when dealing with patient care and research, and ensure the delivery of excellent patient care in adherence with the national standards, responding to community needs.
V2: Demonstrate exemplary leadership and teamwork skills that contribute to a vision of a high-quality health care system and take responsibility and commitment to the discipline by professional planning for life-long learning and development.
