The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Computer Engineering) is a 36-credit, Level 7 graduate program offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at King Abdulaziz University. Delivered on campus through coursework and a thesis, the program develops advanced knowledge, research capability, and professional competence across computer hardware, software, architecture, networks, intelligent systems, embedded computing, and related areas of electrical and computer engineering. The curriculum combines engineering research skills with advanced computer engineering core courses in software engineering, computer architecture, computer networks, and computer performance evaluation, supported by a research seminar and an eight-credit master’s thesis. Four approved elective courses allow students to develop depth and breadth in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, embedded and real-time systems, digital and VLSI design, parallel and distributed computing, networking, software systems, control, reliability, and advanced computer engineering topics. The program prepares graduates for advanced professional practice, research and development, technical leadership, consulting, academic careers, and doctoral study.
