About the Program

The Master Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Natural Products) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University is a research-oriented postgraduate program designed to prepare highly qualified graduates in the field of natural products. The program emphasizes advanced knowledge, modern drug discovery strategies from natural sources, and scientific research skills, enabling graduates to contribute effectively to education, research, and community service. Describe in depth specialized knowledge in understanding the different theories, and principles, for extraction, preparation, isolation, and evaluation of natural materials.
Define the materials, processes, techniques, practices, conventions, and/or terminology relevant to the phytoconstituents and their biological effects.
Recognize the advanced knowledge and understanding of recent developments in chemical characterization, and plant genetic engineering
Explain the knowledge of a range of established and specialized research inquiry techniques, methods and steps of plant and animal tissue cultures.
Apply the theories, principles, and concepts in advanced contexts in dietary supplements for the treatment of specific diseases.
Apply the rules for solving the problems, which appeared during the drug discovery from natural sources.
Create solutions to elucidate the complex structures of the isolated metabolites from natural sources
Apply advanced research projects using specialized and advanced techniques in isolation and purification of natural metabolites.
Utilize advanced instruments as HPLC and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectrometer aiming at isolation and identification of pure natural metabolites.
Communicate effectively, in verbal, and non-verbal, to share the acquired experiences, skills and research results with specialized and non-specialized audiences.
Process data and information quantitatively and/or qualitatively in natural product research problems.
Apply the artificial intelligence, and adapt advanced digital technological tools to analyze variety of data to support the advanced research in different areas of natural products Values, Autonomy, and Responsibility
