| Description | This course continues Pathopharmacology I and provides advanced knowledge of disease mechanisms and their pharmacological management, with emphasis on clinical documentation and accurate medical coding. It covers cardiovascular, renal, hematologic, endocrine, reproductive, infectious, neoplastic, and immune-related disorders, together with the major drug groups used in their treatment. Students examine drug classifications, mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, adverse effects, resistance, and pharmacotherapy plans, including antimicrobial, antineoplastic, hormonal, cardiovascular, and hematologic agents. Through case-based learning and coding exercises, students apply pathopharmacological knowledge to interpret clinical records and assign appropriate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes for diseases and therapeutic interventions. | ||
