Graduates of the Geomatics Department have career opportunities in the private and public sectors, academia, and non-profit organizations. Many of our graduates work in surveying firms, engineering consulting companies, geographic information systems (GIS) organizations, remote sensing companies, infrastructure and utilities firms, as well as geospatial technology and digital mapping companies. They contribute to a wide range of projects involving land surveying, map production, spatial data management, GIS applications, remote sensing, UAV-based aerial surveying, 3D city modeling, infrastructure and asset management, and geospatial support for planning and development projects. Our graduates also enjoy broad employment opportunities in government and semi-government organizations, including the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA), the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Interior, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, in addition to the major national projects associated with Saudi Vision 2030. Career opportunities for Geomatics engineers have expanded significantly with the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the national economy and advance infrastructure, digital transformation, smart cities, transportation, environmental sustainability, and resource management. Vision 2030 is being realized through ambitious national programs, major projects, and strategic initiatives, including NEOM, The Red Sea Project, AlUla, King Salman Park, Green Riyadh, and Diriyah Gate, all of which rely extensively on geospatial data and technologies for planning, implementation, and asset management. Our graduates and faculty members actively contribute to the successful delivery of these initiatives and to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
