About the Center

The Water Research Center at King Abdulaziz University was established in 1418 AH (1998 AD). It aims to study water challenges and provide innovative scientific solutions to ensure sustainability and improve water quality. The scarcity of natural water resources is one of the most prominent challenges facing the Kingdom, and Vision 2030 aims to address this challenge with plans that achieve sustainable development in water use for agriculture, industry, and domestic uses. The center contributes to scientific initiatives to solve water problems at the local, national, regional, and international levels through research, consulting, training, and knowledge dissemination to support decision-makers and improve water resource management. It provides water quality analysis services and develops treatment technologies, while studying the impact of environmental and human factors to achieve water security and ensure resource sustainability.
