Overview of the Office

The Office of the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research is one of the key administrative units at King Abdulaziz University. It is entrusted with advancing the university's system of graduate studies, scientific research, innovation, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer. Established in 1401 AH (1981 AD), the Vice Presidency has played a central role in realizing the university’s vision and mission—to serve as a beacon of knowledge and achieve integration in academic formation through professional excellence and distinguished skills. The Office is committed to developing scientific research, creating a stimulating research environment, enhancing graduate programs, organizing specialized scientific conferences, engaging with experts across diverse academic fields, and establishing partnerships with leading academic and research institutions both locally and internationally. Its efforts aim to position the university as a leader in innovation, excellence, diversity, and scientific and research communication in service of society. Moreover, the Office actively contributes to achieving Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aspires to build a knowledge-based economy founded on development, innovation, and scientific research. In alignment with this vision, the Office works toward enhancing the university’s regional and global standing, reinforcing its role as a pioneering institution among the world’s leading universities.
