Its mission is to support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 regarding smart cities and the enhancement of quality of life. The Center focuses on developing innovative smart environment solutions—utilizing advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and big data systems—to improve the interaction between humans and their environment. It also strives to promote sustainability by employing smart technologies to optimize natural resource efficiency, waste management, and environmental monitoring. Since its inception, the Center has established partnerships with global universities to leverage advanced expertise and transfer it to the Kingdom, while also collaborating on scientific research with international partners to advance its strategic goals. It works to integrate sustainability technologies into urban environments and public facilities, developing smart solutions aimed at reducing environmental impact and improving the quality of life in urban communities. Furthermore, the Center seeks to localize these advanced environmental technologies and provides consultancy and solutions to government and private sector entities, with a strong emphasis on training and developing specialized professionals in the field.
The Center aims to foster collaboration with academic, research, government, and industrial entities in the field of smart environmental technology. Through these partnerships, the Center develops innovative solutions to enhance environmental sustainability by leveraging smart technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and big data.
