Museum Management

Overview

The Museum Administration at King Abdulaziz University was established by a decision of the University President at the time in 1428 AH as an administrative unit affiliated with the then Vice President of the University. Its establishment aimed to support the University’s pursuit of academic and research excellence, serve the community, document history and culture, and enhance the educational process. Since its establishment, the Administration has worked to activate the educational role of the University’s main museum and its educational museums, operate them, and ensure that their needs are met in coordination with the relevant departments. It has also sought to maximize the use of the museums and their collections for educational and cultural purposes. In 1444 AH, the Administration was transferred to the Vice President of the University for the Female Student Campus by a decision of the Acting University President. In 1447 AH, following an update to the University’s organizational structure, its affiliation was transferred to the Vice President of the University for University Life and Operations. This organizational development reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening the institutional role of museums as educational, cultural, and research components that contribute to preserving heritage and history, supporting education and research, and serving the community.
