About the Center

In alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030—which seeks to improve quality of life by promoting health and developing innovative therapeutic solutions for complex, currently untreatable diseases—King Abdulaziz University established a strategic partnership with the prestigious University of Oxford in 1442 AH. Together, they founded the King Abdulaziz University–University of Oxford Center for Artificial Intelligence in Precision Therapeutics. The Center aims to accelerate drug discovery for complex and rare diseases by leveraging artificial intelligence technologies. It strives to provide multidisciplinary platforms and build a high-impact, sustainable research foundation, while fostering global partnerships that contribute to delivering innovative treatments to patients worldwide.

Partnerships and Agreements

The Center seeks to foster collaboration between the two universities and various global and local health and research institutions to develop innovative solutions in precision medicine, leveraging artificial intelligence technologies. Through these partnerships, the Center works to accelerate drug discovery and the analysis of biological data to improve healthcare—particularly in the treatment of intractable and rare diseases. Furthermore, the Center contributes to the dissemination of knowledge, provides scientific consultation, and organizes workshops and training programs aimed at developing research capabilities within the Kingdom.
