• The use of abbreviations for the names of departments, faculties, or the university in institutional affiliation is prohibited. Abbreviations are only allowed in footnotes or the acknowledgments section, provided that the abbreviation is officially approved.

• The affiliation must be written in English when publishing in international scientific journals or local journals that publish in English.

• The affiliation must be written in English when publishing in Arabic journals that include researcher information and abstracts in English.

• If a faculty member or student has multiple internal affiliations, priority should be given to the academic department first, then the faculty, followed by the research center.

• If a faculty member or graduate student has an institutional affiliation with King Abdulaziz University in addition to an external affiliation, the primary affiliation must be King Abdulaziz University to ensure proper documentation of the main institutional affiliation. The university’s research policies and regulations must be observed when adding a second (external) affiliation to comply with institutional policies governing scientific research and academic affiliations.

• Students receiving external scholarships may add the funding entity as a secondary affiliation, with the primary affiliation remaining King Abdulaziz University.

• The official format of the university’s institutional affiliation must be adhered to, according to the following table:

• University researchers must create researcher identifiers such as ORCID or Researcher ID (in WOS) and ensure that the university’s name is written in the official format when creating new accounts or updating existing ones.
