20260412890The Geohazards Research Center, established in 1434 AH (2012–2013 CE), specializes in studying geological hazards across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a particular focus on volcanic and seismic hazards. In alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, the Center conducts research and studies related to the establishment of geoparks, geothermal energy resources, flood and landslide hazards, geological exploration, and the promotion of environmental awareness within the community. The Center also undertakes specialized geological, geophysical, and geotechnical studies to advance scientific knowledge, enhance the understanding and assessment of geological hazards, and contribute to sustainable development and environmental protection.
The Geohazards Research Center seeks to strengthen collaboration with academic and research institutions, government entities, and the private sector by establishing strategic partnerships to conduct joint research projects and in-depth scientific studies in the field of geological hazards. The Center aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and share expertise with local and international partners to develop advanced technologies for predicting geological hazards and mitigating their impacts.
