Given that advanced and innovative chemicals are fundamental pillars of scientific and technical progress in today’s world, the focus areas of the Research Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials at King Abdulaziz University align with the national priorities for the research, development, and innovation sector—namely human health, environmental sustainability and basic needs, leadership in energy and industry, and future economies—as well as with the university’s own research priorities, such as natural resource sustainability, healthcare, and industrial development. The Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials at King Abdulaziz University stands as a leading institution—locally, regionally, and globally—in this field. It relies fundamentally on integrated research bridging science and technology by combining multidisciplinary studies with modern techniques and applications. Since its establishment in 2010, the Center has contributed to the publication of approximately 3,000 scientific papers, 100 books, and 70 patents, while also securing funding for around 140 research projects from both internal and external sources. These achievements have established the Center as a vital local entity driving national scientific progress, aligning with the Kingdom’s strategy to achieve excellence and leadership in scientific research and technological development.
