King Abdulaziz University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Makkah Chamber in Cultural and Economic Fields

King Abdulaziz University (KAU), represented by the Institute of Chinese Science and Culture, signed a cooperation agreement with the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the University’s main campus in Jeddah.

Under the agreement, both parties will establish a framework for cooperation and the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual specialization, while promoting greater academic, cultural and economic integration. The partnership also supports national priorities and contributes to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Representing King Abdulaziz University at the signing was Dr. Nouf bint Abdullah Al-Rifai, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Science and Culture, while Makkah Chamber was represented by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ahmari, Assistant Secretary-General.

Among the key areas of cooperation is the organization of the first Chinese trade exhibition in Makkah, alongside joint applied research, advanced professional training and qualification programs, and the preparation of periodic reports on the Makkah economy. Specialized consultancy services for the development of endowments are also included.

Knowledge and expertise will also be exchanged across scientific and professional fields, including consultancy services in administrative and organizational development. Executive training programs will be provided for Makkah Chamber leaders and employees, as well as for official delegations visiting the Chamber.

Scientific research represents another area of collaboration, with both parties working to identify priority research fields and conduct joint studies and research projects in accordance with their available capabilities and resources.
