20260412890King Abdulaziz University President Dr. Tareef bin Yousuf Alaama honored the students whose team won the Grand Prize, two gold medals, and one silver medal at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) in the United States.
Held on Sunday, 23 August 2026, the ceremony was attended by Professor Mohammed Reda Kabli, Vice President for Educational Affairs; Dr. Musaab bin Faleh Al-Harbi, Chief Institutional Communication Officer; Dr. Jamaan bin Salem Al-Ghamdi, Dean of Admission and Registration; and Professor Fouad Abu Laban, Dean of Student Affairs.
Bringing together 500 inventors from 30 countries, SVIIF featured a grand prize winning team that included four King Abdulaziz University students representing Tuwaiq Academy: Jehaad Aljohani, Hassan Alzahrani, Alanoud Alqarzaie, and Duaa Mufarreh.
Winning projects included Solara, an innovative nano-coating that protects solar panels from dust and water while helping cool them to improve efficiency and reduce damage; Hospitalink, a device and application that identifies the nearest hospitals with available beds to support faster emergency patient transfers; and Draphene, an innovation that uses date pits as a raw material to produce graphene through more efficient methods, helping reduce production costs.
