20260412890King Abdulaziz University has achieved leading national results in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026, ranking first among Saudi universities in four Sustainable Development Goals. The ranking is one of the world’s leading international benchmarks for measuring universities’ contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The results showed that KAU ranked first nationally in SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. These areas lie at the heart of the global development agenda and align with the priorities of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a prosperous economy and a cohesive society.
Globally, KAU ranked 5th in SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, 11th in SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, 23rd in SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 30th in SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, reflecting the university’s growing international presence among leading global institutions.
In the overall ranking, King Abdulaziz University achieved a total score of 88.3 out of 100, placing in the 101 - 200 global band. The university also ranked second nationally in three additional SDGs: SDG 15: Life on Land, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
These results reflect KAU’s sustained investment in research, institutional partnerships, and community impact, as well as its continued commitment to advancing sustainable development in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
