King Abdulaziz University Celebrates Saudi National Day and Honors the General Directorate of Security Patrols

King Abdulaziz University (KAU) celebrated Saudi National Day on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at a ceremony held at the King Faisal Conference Center under the patronage of University President Dr. Tareef bin Yousuf Alaama. The event was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Reda Ali Kabli, Vice President for Educational Affairs, University vice presidents, deans of faculties and deanships, students and members of the University community, as well as Brig. Gen. Abdullah Omar Al-Zahrani, Director of the Security Patrols Department in Jeddah Governorate.

 

The ceremony opened with the Saudi national anthem, followed by the operetta “Ras Al-Mal”, which highlighted the role of the family in shaping individuals, instilling values of responsibility and belonging, and emphasizing the importance of investing in people and the complementary roles of family members in contributing to national development.

 

A visual presentation also showcased aspects of the General Directorate of Security Patrols’ efforts in serving the community and strengthening security and safety, while highlighting the readiness, discipline and rapid response required of its personnel in the field.

 

Speaking on behalf of the University President, Dr. Mohammed bin Reda Ali Kabli emphasized that Saudi National Day is an occasion to reflect on the Kingdom’s journey of unification, nation-building and development, as well as the achievements that have placed people at the heart of development and made ambition a driving force for the future.

 

He noted that nation-building begins with developing minds and empowering talent, and that education and universities play a fundamental role in advancing knowledge, preparing national talent and supporting development. He added that King Abdulaziz University continues to empower talent, strengthen research and innovation, prepare students for future needs, and direct knowledge and research toward addressing societal issues and challenges.

 

Dr. Kabli also stressed that universities are key partners in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by building capabilities, fostering innovation, aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs, and transforming ideas and research outputs into practical applications that create sustainable national impact.

 

Achieving such impact, he added, requires integrated efforts from faculty members, researchers, students, and administrative and technical staff, all working together as one team. The University’s academic and research achievements, along with its community initiatives, represent tangible expressions of belonging, contribution and service to the Kingdom’s development journey.

 

As part of the program, King Abdulaziz University honored the General Directorate of Security Patrols in recognition of its personnel’s efforts in serving the community and enhancing security and safety. Brig. Gen. Abdullah Omar Al-Zahrani received the recognition on behalf of the Directorate.

 

Saudi National Day celebrations at the University will continue tomorrow with the participation of female students in a program featuring a range of national activities designed to reinforce the values of belonging, contribution and participation in the Kingdom’s ongoing development.

 

Concluding the event, the University extended its congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of Saudi National Day, praying that Allah preserve the Kingdom and grant it lasting security, stability and prosperity.
