King Abdulaziz University (KAU), represented by its Faculty of Architecture and Planning, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Taibah Higher Training Institutes Company on Tuesday, 2 Jumada Al-Awwal 1448 AH, at the office of Dr. Mohammed Reda Kabli, Vice President for Educational Affairs. The agreement aims to strengthen academic, training and research cooperation while developing qualified Saudi professionals in architecture, urban development and planning, contributing to sustainable development and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The MoU was signed on behalf of KAU by Dr. Ayman bin Amin Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, and on behalf of Taibah Higher Training Institutes Company by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Othman bin Yahya Mousa Zakaria.
The agreement seeks to attract qualified diploma graduates and prepare them academically for admission to the Faculty’s diploma to degree bridging programmes. It also provides for academic and career guidance services aimed at improving student retention and enhancing the overall learning experience.
Areas of cooperation include developing joint training and professional development programmes, assessing the alignment of diploma learning outcomes with the Faculty’s academic programme requirements, and organising awareness campaigns, information sessions and open days to attract eligible students. The agreement also covers monitoring students’ academic progress before and after enrolment.
The MoU further promotes scientific research, knowledge exchange and professional development through joint workshops, training programmes, research projects and academic activities. These initiatives aim to equip Saudi professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the evolving demands of the labour market in architecture, urban development and planning.
The agreement forms part of KAU’s efforts to expand partnerships with vocational training and professional development institutions while strengthening the integration of academic education and practical training. Through such collaborations, the University seeks to advance human capital development and prepare highly qualified Saudi professionals in specialised fields.
