Biography
An Associate Professor with expertise in Marine Fisheries Management, Stock Assessment, and the Marine Environment, with extensive experience in teaching, academic supervision, research, quality assurance, and strategic planning. Throughout my academic career, I have taught and supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate students, contributing to the development of future professionals and researchers in marine sciences. My scholarly record includes more than 34 published research papers, reflecting sustained contributions to the fields of marine fisheries, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. I have also represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education in several prominent international platforms, including the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), the UN Convention on Biological Diversity – BBNJ, and the UNESCO IP-HAB Program on Harmful Algal Blooms. In addition to my academic and research roles, I have extensive experience in institutional leadership, administration, and strategic planning, spanning over two decades. Since 2000, I have held several leadership positions, including serving as Director of the Strategic Center for Achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. I have played a leading role in the design and implementation of major institutional strategies, most notably by leading the teams responsible for developing King Abdulaziz University’s Fourth Strategic Plan “Ambition” 2022–2025 and its Digital Transformation Plan (2022–2025). I also contributed to the Ministry of Education’s National Education Direction Project in 2021and member in KAU transforming plan (2026-2030). My professional qualifications further support my academic and administrative work. I am a certified academic program reviewer and internal auditor for quality assurance, in addition to being a Trainer of Trainers (ToT), a certified strategic planning consultant, and a holder of a professional Diploma in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Through this combination of academic scholarship, international engagement, institutional leadership, and strategic expertise, I continue to contribute to the advancement of marine science, higher education quality, and strategic development priorities.
