Professor Hamid Abdulraoof Mohammed Saleh is the Dean of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and a Professor of Anatomy and Embryology at the Faculty of Medicine. He earned his M.B.B.S. from KAU and completed his Ph.D. in Anatomy at the University of Wales – Cardiff, UK.
Professor Saleh has played a pioneering role in advancing medical education and academic quality at KAU. He established the Master’s Program in Technical Anatomy and Histology, the first of its kind in Saudi medical colleges, and introduced e-learning and computer-based examinations at the Faculty of Medicine, setting a national benchmark. He also served twice as Chair of the Department of Anatomy, contributed to the foundation of Rabigh Medical College, and supported the establishment of the Princess Al Johara Center of Excellence in Research on Hereditary Disorders.
His research focuses on environmental pollutants and their developmental impact on fetuses and newborns, leading to numerous publications in high-ranking international journals. He has authored medical textbooks widely taught at KAU and supervised many master’s and doctoral theses.
In addition, Professor Saleh has significantly contributed to community service and social responsibility, founding the University President’s Award for Excellence in Community Service. He is widely recognized as a national and international leader in medical education, accreditation, and scientific research
