Biography

Dr. Yousef Abu Sharkh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University. He currently serves as the Dean of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions, including Vice Dean of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation for Measurement and Planning, Director of the University Transformation Management Office, and Director of the University Excellence and Rankings Unit. He also served as Vice Dean of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation for Development and Quality, making significant contributions to advancing academic accreditation efforts and enhancing institutional performance.

Dr. Abu Sharkh earned his PhD in Intelligent Systems from RMIT University in 2017. His research career has focused on agent-oriented software engineering, intelligent simulation for decision support, and ensuring the reliability of intelligent systems.

He has published dozens of scientific papers in prestigious international journals and conferences, covering applications of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, smart healthcare, and big data analytics. He has also participated in international collaborative research projects on tumor detection, improving the efficiency of Internet of Things (IoT) systems, and Arabic text analysis using deep learning models.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Abu Sharkh has obtained several professional certifications from renowned institutions such as Harvard University and the KPI Institute in Australia. Today, he is recognized as one of the distinguished national experts in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and academic quality assurance.
