King Abdulaziz University and Althelim Sign Cooperation Agreement to Advance Research and Training in Renewable Energy and Climate Technologies

King Abdulaziz University (KAU), represented by the Faculty of Engineering, signed a cooperation agreement with Althelim Holding, represented by Althelim Integrated Services, to advance specialized climate technologies and renewable energy solutions and contribute to building a knowledge-based economy that supports innovation, research and development in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The agreement was launched on the sidelines of the Saudi Industry Forum.

Representing King Abdulaziz University at the signing Dr. Majdi bin Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, while Althelim Holding was represented by Mr. Saad bin Abdullah Al-Wuhaimid, General Manager of Strategy. Through the agreement, both parties aim to strengthen collaboration in renewable energy and specialized climate technology services.

Building leadership in economies driven by advanced core industries is a key objective of the agreement. It also seeks to develop human capital, expand cooperation in applied studies, and contribute to building a knowledge-based society through economic diversification and investment in knowledge-driven fields.

Key areas of cooperation include providing mutual scientific services, establishing joint research teams, and participating in meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops. Both parties will also explore opportunities to utilize available assets and technologies and transform them into revenue-generating investment opportunities.

Entrepreneurship and innovation represent another focus of the partnership, with efforts aimed at connecting the business sector with students’ creative ideas and opportunities and supporting their transformation into sustainable investments.

Further areas of collaboration include consultancy services, training programs, scientific research, and applied and development projects.

University students will also benefit from cooperative training opportunities and support for joint student projects, alongside scientific visits and academic exchanges involving faculty members and researchers.
