King Abdulaziz University and Ali Al-Ghamdi Holding Company Sign MoU to Support Innovation in Food Safety and Public Health

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the King Fahd Medical Research Center,
signed a memorandum of understanding with Ali Al-Ghamdi Holding Company. The
MoU aims to support innovation and training in food safety and public health by
integrating the university’s research capabilities with the company’s industrial
expertise to qualify national talent. The signing took place today, [date], at [place].

Representing the university at the signing was Vice President for Graduate Studies
and Scientific Research Prof. Amin bin Youssef Noaman, while Ali Al-Ghamdi
Holding Company was represented by its CEO, Mr. Ali Saeed Al-Ghamdi. The MoU
seeks to launch a package of initiatives that serve the academic and research
community.

The MoU includes establishing a mobile field laboratory equipped with rapid analysis
technologies and advanced quality indicators to ensure food safety during seasons
and festivals. This initiative strengthens the university’s community role through the
Department of Food and Nutrition. It also includes launching training programs and
workshops to qualify national talent in food innovation, quality, public health, and
modern manufacturing, under the supervision of the King Fahd Medical Research
Center.

A joint program will also be organized to support researchers and students in
transforming their food-related ideas into tangible products by benefiting from the
company’s factories and expertise. The MoU also includes using retort technology,
which does not require refrigeration, to provide students with healthy, innovative, and
diverse food options.

Areas of cooperation between the two parties include holding periodic meetings to
discuss cooperation opportunities and developing joint projects and initiatives across
various fields. As part of its initial and expected projects, the MoU aims to activate
specific annual performance indicators to measure the number of joint research
projects and training programs implemented by both parties, ensuring the MoU’s
objectives are achieved.
