SUMMARY

A Law Professor with a solid background in international investment and business laws. Currently, I’m working at King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) as a Professor of Law, Department of Private Law. At the same time, working as a member of the Supervisory Committee of the Center of Legal Studies Research at Bureau of Experts, Saudi Council of Ministers. In addition, I am a certified arbitrator by the Saudi Ministry of Justice.

Member of the Appellate Judicial Committee for Customs Disputes        2006 -2018

Appellate Judicial Committee for Customs Disputes is the highest court of appeal for customs disputes. It hears hundreds of appeals each year from importers against decisions made by the customs trial committee. The Appellate Judicial Committee determines whether or not the law was applied correctly in the trial committee. The Appellate Committee also looks at the fines imposed by the trial committee for the violations of the GCC Customs Law. Such disputes involve millions of Saudi Riyals.

Acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate studies and Academic Research     2013

The main role was to support the Dean in managing postgraduate education within the faculty. Contributed to the development and implementation of University and Faculty policy on postgraduate education. Make the arrangements for the approval of the appointment of internal and external examiners for research degrees.

Academic Secretary of the Academic Board of the Law Department, Faculty of Economics and Administration. 9 to 2012.

The principal role of the academic secretary is to support the Department Board, which is the body responsible for the Department’s academic policy, oversee the teaching schedule and other academic works undertaken by the Department. The Academic Secretary is assisted in his work by administrative colleagues.

Member of the Ministry of Higher Education Committee for the Private Universities and Colleges in Jeddah (Business).          2014

The Ministry of Higher Education Committee for Private Universities and Colleges in Jeddah is an independent committee appointed to visit the private universities and produce reports about each university. Such reports include information relating the compliance of the private universities to the laws and regulations of the ministry of higher education and an assessment of the quality of the academic process.

Appointed as a mediator in a complex multimillion investment dispute in Makkah, Saudi Arabia and succeeded in resolving the dispute.

Appointed as member of an arbitral tribunal in a multimillion commercial dispute involving one of the largest commercial firms in Saudi Arabia.

Serves as referee and peer reviewer for articles and book proposals submitted to publishers in different countries (including the Oxford University Press, and the Cambridge University Press).
