First: Training Programs Available to Students

  • 1. Early Practice Experience (EPE) Program
    Organization: College of Pharmacy - Pharmacist Training Unit at King Abdulaziz University
    Type: Internal
    Duration: 400 hours, starting after the third year (200 hours per course x 2 courses = 400 hours).
    Category: Male and female students who need to enter the fourth year of the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program
    Training Locations:
    • 1. Community Pharmacies (200 hours)
    • 2. Hospital Pharmacies (200 hours)
    Training Details:
    • 1. Two four-week courses, each lasting 5 weeks (8 hours per day x 5 days per week).
    • 2. One course in a commercial community pharmacy.
    • 3. One course in a hospital pharmacy.
    Diverse: Specialized healthcare skills, communication with patients and healthcare providers, dispensing and dispensing training, medication education.
  • 2. Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Program
    Organization: College of Pharmacy - Pharmacist Training Unit.
    Type: Internal.
    Duration: Sixth year (internship): Consists of 8 dance parties (each session is 4 weeks long).
    Category: Sixth year (internship) students.
    Locations: Training hospitals, community pharmacies, health centers, and specialized optional facilities.
    Training Details: 6 training courses (4 clinical, 1 hospital, 1 community pharmacy) + 2 optional courses.
    Strengths: Multidisciplinary training, advanced pharmacy practice, and pre-employment professional qualification.
  • 3. External Training Programs (External Training/Paid Programs)
    Organization: Cooperation with participating entities (private/governmental hospitals, major pharmacies, external sports centers).
    Type: External
    Duration: From Friday to Friday (usually 4 to 8 weeks).
    Category: Final year students, or contractual arrangements with the college.
    Objectives: Expanding the scope of training, requiring additional skills, and including joint partnerships.

  • Training programs at local healthcare institutions (hospitals, community pharmacies, health centers) through contracts and partnerships between college students, etc.
  • Some external training programs (paid/external) are held with private entities and provide future employment opportunities.
  • Advanced Early Childhood Education (EPE) (APPE) at the Police College for graduation, and these partnerships diversify students' professional development and the job market.
