Types of Employer Approvals Accepted at King Abdulaziz University

All general academic graduate programs require applicants, if admitted and currently employed (whether in the government or private sector), to submit approval from their employer in accordance with the following procedures:

A- Employees:
Position Required Employer Approval
Teaching Assistant / Lecturer Submit the official scholarship decision issued by their university.
Judges Submit approval from the Supreme Judicial Council or the Administrative Judiciary Council, according to their respective governing authority.
All Employees
(Except for the categories mentioned above)

One of the following forms of approval will be accepted:

  1. Complete the Deanship's Employer Approval Form available in the admission system and attach it to the application.
  2. An official study assignment decision issued by the applicant's employer.
  3. Submit an employer approval letter permitting the applicant to study, addressed to the Dean of Graduate Studies, provided that the approval letter does not contain any of the following phrases or conditions: (evening study – study outside official working hours – distance/affiliated study – study must not conflict with official working hours – or any other conditional approval).
  4. Study leave and/or exceptional leave, provided that the total leave period covers the minimum required duration of study (one year for a diploma, two years for a master's degree, and three years for a doctoral degree). If the duration of study exceeds the approved leave period, the remaining period must be covered by another officially approved leave specifically granted for study purposes.

Note:

  • If it is established that the leave has been canceled after being submitted, the University reserves the right to cancel the student's admission.
B- Non-Employees:

Applicants must submit official proof of their employment status confirming that they are not employed, issued by the Civil Affairs Agency of the Ministry of Interior.

  • The above regulations do not apply to Teaching Assistants and Lecturers at King Abdulaziz University. Their study is governed by the University's internal scholarship regulations.
  • The above regulations do not apply to administrative and technical employees of King Abdulaziz University. Their study is governed by the University's employee scholarship and training procedures.
