72 Research Projects Featured at Opening of Engineering Exhibition for KAU Students in Rabigh

Published on 18 May 2026

King Abdulaziz University President Dr. Tareef bin Youssef Alaama inaugurated the

Engineering 360 exhibition, organized by the Faculty of Engineering in Rabigh in partnership

with the Scientific Endowment. Held for the second consecutive year, the exhibition

featured 72 research and innovation projects and opened on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at

the Faculty of Engineering in Rabigh.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Alaama honored the sponsoring companies and toured

the accompanying exhibition. He also listened to students’ presentations introducing their

research and innovation projects, which covered a wide range of engineering fields. This

annual event is considered the Faculty of Engineering in Rabigh’s most prominent event,

bringing together outstanding students, faculty members, graduates, and specialists from

the industrial and engineering sectors under one roof.

Aiming to highlight young talent, support innovation, and create a platform that connects

engineering education with the local and national labor market, the exhibition aligned with

the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in technology, industry, advanced energy, and energy

efficiency.

Over two days, Wednesday and Thursday, the exhibition featured a range of activities that

showcased the academic and innovative outputs of engineering students. These included

the graduation projects exhibition, the Best Entrepreneurship Course competition, practical

models and applications based on 3D printing, and an engineering hackathon.

Additional accompanying activities were designed to enrich the visitor experience and

support the exhibition’s engineering content through specialized dialogues under “Meras,”

interactive experiences, and the participation of sponsors and partners. These activities

aimed to promote knowledge exchange, encourage engagement, and build bridges of

communication between students, academics, and the professional sector.
