Professor AbdulRahman Alkhalaf holds a bachelor's degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering-College of Engineering, King Abdulaziz University, has earned a master's degree and doctorate in the field of meteorology from Texas A & M University in the United States of America.  Current research activates includes physical studies of the atmosphere such as solar radiation and its relationship to the atmosphere and the Earth's surface in addition to  the physics of clouds research, and the analysis of satellite data and radar. He is now with a team to carry out scientific studies of climate change and its impact on the environment, water and natural resources.  Professor Alkhalaf has studied the total ozone over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  He participated as a consultant with the scientific team of the Islamic Development Bank to modernize and develop the Meteorological Agency in the State of Indonesia in 2001.  He was head of the Department of Meteorology and served as Dean of the Faculty of Meteorology, Environment and Arid Land Agriculture for a period of 6 years and he was head of the scientific team to study cloud physics above Saudi Arabia.  And now serves as a consultant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of Curricula Unit and deputy director of the Center of Excellence for Research on climate change
