Abstract : During the last years, the role of early childhood Education was a great concern in Saudi Arabia which in turn resulted in the increased number of preschool centers in Jeddah. Since then, an evaluation in the programs offered has evolved which resulted in diverse situations among kindergartens such as operation hours, tuitions, curriculum; staff qualifications etc. this paper will represent the debate about applying the concept of "learning through play" in educating preschool children where the research problem is raised because of the teachers opposition and mothers conformity about the concept of play.
