Abstract : In this research the points related to the most important economic factors affecting insurance market and re-insurance, as well as the economic fluctuations due to the world economic conditions and the method of approaching it and avoiding the damages with the least possible losses. The research mentioned the most important insurance companies in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and an estimated statistical study about Al-Tawunia Insurance Co. as an ideal model. Some issues related to the business that may make change and has an obvious effect were also studied, for example : Analyzing the economies of demand and offer of insurance service, focusing on the role of insurance companies in national economy and its relation to saving, investment and balance of payments, and pointing out the investments’ fields of insurance companies and its effects on national economy, and pointing out the effect of investments on Stock Exchange, and determining the most important economic variables; local (economic policy) and international (GATT and international economic coalitions) and its effect on the performance of local insurance companies. Finally, a study was made to estimate the indication of demand and the determinants affecting the economic variables. We find that the contribution by insurance companies in the local outcome is relatively insignificant, compared to the insurance companies in developed countries. The role of these companies in national economy can be enhanced and increased through improving its performance and training the human resources, as well as providing the proper economic environment.
