Abstract : This research presents a design and partial implementation linguistic foundation of Arabic dictionary based on semantic to be used in computational linguistics and natural language processing. The data model is extended beyond the Arabic replication of the word/sense relation and investigates the meaning, synonym, antonym, hypernym, holonym, disharmony, tropynym and entailment. A relational database is employed to store the lexical and conceptual relations, giving the database extensibility in Arabic language. The editing interface also deals with Arabic script.
