A Vocational Training for School Students

The King Fahd Medical Research Center received students from Alfaisalyah school for gifted students in Jeddah on 30.10.2022. A detailed explanation was provided about the center's laboratories and the scientific equipment they contain, through which the researcher conducts scientific research and studies.


King Fahd Medical Research Center (KFMRC) received Mawhiba talented students

Mawhiba students visited KFMRC during summer 2022 as part of their summer training program. They visited laboratiries, attended workshops and conducted research projects under the supervision of King Abdulaziz University researchers.

KAUx E-Training Platform (Online Public Lectures)

KAUx is an Electronic Platform for Massive Open Online variety of free Courses and trainings in Arabic Language to those wishing to learn and develop their skills.

Through this platform, a variety of lectures and trainings are introduced in different fields, including human studies, human resource development, accreditation and quality standards in Saudi Universities, as well as the fields of educational development, entrepreneurship and others.

This platform helps KAU achieve the following purposes:

  • Spreading Science and Knowledge
  • Enhancing KAU community responsibility through its contribution to providing training for community members.
  • Renovating training approaches that meet the requirements of beneficiaries from both inside and outside the University

The Third Session of the Business Incubator and Accelerator (2019-2020)

The accelerator and incubator presented its programs and services to more than forty entrepreneurs in the activities of the third session for the year 2019, in which entrepreneurs worked for several months to develop their startups and entrepreneurial ventures, with the below best nine startups:

  • Pivot: is a program to support entrepreneurs, incubators and accelerators in the evaluation of entrepreneurial ideas and projects and monitoring their performance.
  • Plus Pool: an application and online platform to market fresh food surplus at a discounted value for restaurants and customers.
  • My ID: is a store that produces and markets products bearing the logo of the establishment
  • My Tournaments: is an online platform for creating, organizing and automating tournaments, competitions, video games and mental games.
  • Smart Energy Management System: It is a smart energy management system for buildings through energy conservation processors and algorithms.
  • Fit: is an electronic sports application that helps the user to calculate calories and mileage, order healthy meals and obtain various privileges.
  • Pallet: is a service technical project to assist restaurant owners in managing the supply chain, warehouse, returns, and logistics services.
  • Baby Sitter: is a project to solve childcare problems during the absence and preoccupation of their parents in a safe and secure manner.
  • My Big Show: an online platform for booking and purchasing tickets and providing various services for everything related to entertainment, sporting events and others.

As for the business incubator, its most prominent pioneering projects were:

  • 1. Care: is an application to obtain and exchange new and used medical equipment and devices between users.
  • 2. VOITX: is a software tool that uses artificial intelligence to assist the blind, especially in - educational institutions in converting spoken texts to written and vice versa. -
  • 3. Print: is a website to facilitate communication with presses and create or choose designs that suit different needs and tastes.
  • 4. MedBay: is an online store and application specialized in selling medical supplies to individuals.

The Second Session of the Business Incubator and Accelerator (2018-2019)

It provided its program and services to more than 20 entrepreneur participants, who worked on more than 12 startups and businesses. The axes of the second cycle of speeding included several courses, the most important of which are:

  • Contributed: a website to provide integrated solutions to meet the population needs of customers and build their homes.
  • My Teeth: A specialized website and application in the field of oral and dental medicine.
  • Recycling Bank: A device for recycling household waste in a smart way to achieve economic values for the individual, family and society.

The First Session of the Business Incubator and Accelerator (2017-2018)

It took six months, during which the accelerator presented its program and services to more than 30 participants from entrepreneurs, who worked on 17 emerging business projects. A number of intensive workshops in entrepreneurship were presented in the course by a group of specialized and distinguished faculty and members of the Babson International team, who are the first entity of the global entrepreneurship A. The workshops and courses included the following topics:

  • ▪ Understand the factors that help or hinder growth and finance growth

Several specialized workshops were held in the support skills needed by entrepreneurs, in addition to providing quality services and logistical support to the participating leaders including providing consultations, meeting experts, entrepreneurs and owners of successful companies, and holding support training courses to raise the skills of team members participating in a number Among the administrative, technical and linguistic fields they need, such as:

  • ▪ Designing mobile applications and electronic stores
  • ▪ Preparing business and marketing plans
  • ▪ Strengthening English language skills, and other skills.
  • ▪ The Word Symbol: To develop the art of drawing graffiti and its products and marketing its tools and activities.
  • ▪ Listal Platform: To provide services for freelancers in different fields of companies.
  • ▪ Event Nation: to market the various events held in the cities of the Kingdom
  • ▪ Beach & Close: To train entrepreneurs to present their projects professionally and effectively.
  • ▪ Basma Events Organization: to arrange events professionally, quickly and effectively.
  • ▪ Your third place: for an environment that attracts pleasure and benefit, comes in the third place after home and work.
  • ▪ Green Box: For recycling of plastic, metal and glass beverage containers.
  • ▪ Jeddah Diving: To provide integrated and professional services for diving and marine sports enthusiasts.
  • ▪ Test Club: To obtain services, discounts, and special features from restaurants.

  • ▪ Car Care Academy: For professional care of corporate and individual cars on site.
  • ▪ Sofesar: to design and manufacture gifts and memorials for visitors to the Two Holy Places and the Kingdom.
  • ▪ Squat: To meet the different needs of toilet users in healthier ways.
  • ▪ Love Dates: for the manufacture and marketing of liquid sugar extracted from different dates.

Other Miscellaneous Programmes

Since community service comes right after education and research in the university’s mission, King Abdulaziz University established the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education to be a link between the university and the community by providing educational opportunities for those who are willing to continue their education through one of its following programs:

  • Training Courses Programs: such as TOEFL preparation course, International Computer Driving License (ICDL), and Pharmaceutical Continuing Learning Program.
  • Vocational Diploma Programs: designed to create job opportunities for high school graduates whose average GPA does not allow them to enroll in universities. The Deanship offers several vocational diplomas such as Cisco Networking Diploma in addition to diplomas for female students such as the Dentist Assistant Diploma.
  • External Students Program: the purpose of this program is enlarging the university’s capacity to enroll the biggest possible number of high school graduates in addition to students who graduated from high school over five years ago.
  • The Paid Preparatory Year Program: aims at preparing high school graduates for university education.
  • Parallel Medical Education Program: a paid program to study medicine in order to produce physicians to satisfy the health sector’s needs of staff as well as giving the opportunity to high school graduates who do not meet the requirements of studying medicine.
