Head Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Melbourne Institute of Asian Languages and Societies Visits KAU

Prof Abdullah O. Bafil, KAU Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, received at his office on Saturday 24th January 2009, corresponding to 27th Muharram 1430 Dr Abdulsamad Abdullah, Head Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Melbourne Institute of Asian Languages and Societies, University of Melbourne, Australia.
Programme of the honourable guest included visits to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Faculty of Economics and Administration.
The purpose of the visit was to foster mutual cooperation between KAU and Melbourne University with regard to sharing scientific research and staff development experiences.
Cooperation was specifically intended for the staff of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Melbourne University and the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies in Australia with the aim of spreading Arabic language and Islamic culture in Australia.
This was released by Dr Haitham Bin Ahmed Zaka'ee, Supervisor General of Public Relations and Media.
