Profile
Dr. Ghulam Md Ashraf is an Assistant Professor at King Fahd Medical Research Center at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his B.Sc (2004), M.Sc. (2006) and PhD (2010) degree from Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh, India. The current focus of his research is neuroproteomics, with the quest to investigate the application of proteomics and nanotechnological tools in understanding the mechanism underlying neurodegeneration in neurodegenerative diseases, and finding drugable targets to counteract neurodegeneration. Currently, Dr Ashraf is carrying out an ambitious project which involves an extensive analyses of the cerebrospinal fluid collected from neurodegenerative patients who undergo neurosurgery. The aim of this study to investigate a definitive expression pattern of all the CSF markers of neurodegeneration, and thus establish a potential early stage diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders.
