Dr. Aisha Alnami is an assistant professor in pharmaceutical chemistry in the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. In 2010, Aisha received her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the same institution. In 2019, She was awarded with a post-graduate certificate (PGCer) in protein crystallography from the School of Science, Birkbeck College, University of London, UK. By August 2020, she completed her MSc and PhD degrees in the field of drug discovery and development from the School of Pharmacy, University College London, London, UK. During her PhD, she committed to discovering, characterising and developing inhibitors against FtsZ, an essential cell division protein from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Aisha’s extensive experience in protein crystallography and in screening small molecules and fragment libraries by using various biochemical and biophysical techniques would help her to pursue her career in target-based antimycobacterial drug discovery. Currently, Aisha is involved in teaching medicinal chemistry courses for PharmD students. She also participates in teaching courses for both computer-aided drug design and drug–target interactions for postgraduate students.
