Research Interests

  • Dr. Bassi is interested in renewable energy technologies. His focus is mainly on improving the power absorption in the solar energy using several techniques such as maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Furthermore, he is interested in suppressing issues related to what is so-called photovoltaic leakage current.
  • He is also working on wind energy integration and control using sophisticated rapid control schemes.
  • He works on Smart grid technologies, applications, and Energy storage.
  • Power Electronics Technologies for Utility and Industrial Applications (FACTS, HVDC and MVDC) are other interesting areas for Dr. Bassi. He is analyzing and modifying several pulse-width modulation techniques and providing new multilevel inverter topologies.
