Hossam M. K. Aboulfotouh, is a Development Policies Planner and Architectonician, i.e., who links the philosophy of basic sciences with architecture and planning, he holds PhD in Development Policies (Cairo University 1997), MA in Urban Management (Erasmus University 1993), MSc. in Urban Conservation (Cairo University 1990), and BSc. in Architecture (Helwan University 1983). His researches, book, and technical reports are in diverse fields related to physical heritage and history of sciences, e.g., strategic planning, development policies, housing, urban economics, architectonic mathematics, archaeostronomy, architectonic cosmic theories, and pyramids-design philosophy. He was the team leader of the UNDP project “Rehabilitation of Historic Cairo-1997”; UNESCO consultant to Saida, Lebanon, (2000), technical consultant of Egypt's delegation to Habitat-II Conference, in NY and in Istanbul (1996); Director, UIA Work Programme “Architecture and Heritage”, Region-V (1999-2008); and Director, Strategic Planning Project for Makkah, (2007-2010). He taught Urban Planning, Housing, Theory of Architecture, and Architecture Design Studio at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts of Minia University (1998-2007). Currently, he teaches at the Faculty of Environmental Design-FED of King Abdulaziz University-KAU. Some of his courses are, e.g., Housing-I (URP-400), Housing-II (URP-401), Planning Process (URP-220), and Regional and City Planning Studios (URP-598, URP496 and URP497), Urban Economics-I (URP-221) for the undergraduate students; and Strategic Planning & Sustainable Development (URP-710) for the postgraduate students (PhD). He is also Coordinator, Development of Postgraduate Programs (PhD/MSc), in Urban and Regional Planning; was Head, Unit of Academic Affairs for Postgraduate Studies and Studying Abroad, at FED (2016-2017), and currently he is Head, Researches and Innovation Unit at FED, King AbdulAziz .University
