University Mail linking settings in smart phones
First : Check the setting for POP/IMAP on your computer:
Open Gmail, In the top right, click "Settings", then "See all settings". Click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab".
- Make sure that POP Enable, select one option in "POP download" section:
- Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
- Enable POP for all mail (even mail that has already been downloaded).
- Click" Save Changes".
- Make sure that Enable IMAP:
- In the "IMAP access" section, select Enable IMAP.
- Click "Save Changes".
Second : Setting Mobile device :
Setting for iPhone or iPad or iPod touch:
- Make sure to enable IMAP access in Gmail settings..
- Go to the settings of the device.
- Click on " Mail ".
- Click on the "Add Account".
- Click on " Gmail ".
- Enter your full email address, including the " @kau.edu.sa ". for students "@stu.kau.edu.sa" and the password.
- Click on" Next".
- Click on " Save ".
Setting for Android devices:
- Make sure to enable IMAP access in Gmail settings Home.
- In your phone, press "home", then open the "E-mail Application".
- Click add account
- On the page select "Google" as a type of account you want to add.
- Enter your full email address, including the " @kau.edu.sa ". for students "@stu.kau.edu.sa" and the password.
- Then select "Next".
- In the event that the message “Permissions to access your information” appears, choose “Allow”
- Press "Done".
Third: Set up your Outlook Mail :
To read Gmail messages in other mail Application, like Microsoft Outlook .
Incoming mail settings:
- Access server via IMAP: imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- Security Type: Secure Sockets Layer (always)
Outgoing mail settings:
- SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 587, for new version 465
- Security Type: Secure Sockets Layer (always)
